Ongoing pictorial illustration and signage support for Greene King pubs across Urban, Social and Community formats.
We work with Greene King on a growing series of site-specific pictorials for pubs across their Urban, Social and Community formats.
Each pictorial is developed around the individual pub — its name, history, building, location or local references — so the artwork feels rooted in the site rather than simply decorative.
The visual language combines pen and ink illustration, loose colour wash, textured calico backgrounds and strong, clear composition. The aim is to give every pub its own character, while keeping the overall approach consistent across the wider Greene King estate.
The pictorials need to work well on the building and from the street, so clarity and recognisability are always key. Strong silhouettes, lively linework and simple framed layouts help each sign feel immediate, characterful and easy to read.
The work is also adapted for digital use, including social media, allowing the personality of each pub to carry through beyond the sign itself.
The result is an ongoing body of pictorial work that helps Greene King give individual pubs their own identity within a consistent estate approach.
